Free charging for electric vehicles

UPark is excited to offer our monthly reserved parkers free charging for electric vehicles.

Reserved parking for electric vehicles is now available at a fixed cost with an access fee of $10 a month, which is charged on top of your monthly reserved fee.

Enjoy exclusive access to a 7kW charger and know that 100% of the energy used is renewable and locally sourced.

Electricity is free. This is a Smart Charging trial funded by the City of Adelaide and SA Government. The Electric Vehicle Smart Charging Trial is piloting technologies and approaches aimed at reducing demand on the electricity grid as the number of electric vehicles increases.

What will this cost me?

Electricity is free.
There is a $10 monthly access fee which will be charged along with your monthly reserved fee.

How does it work?

Once you're signed up, we will provide you with a designated spot. You'll require your own type 2 charging cable to connect.
UPark will also provide you with an individual RFID card which is required to activate your charger.

What do I need?

Please provide your own charging cable.
You will be provided with a Chargefox RFID card that will activate your allocated charger.

How much charge will I receive?

The chargers available are Schneider EVlink Smart Wallbox chargers

As part of this project, we will be remotely adjusting the amount of power to EV chargers to manage electricity demand. This means that users will not get 100% of the available charging capacity at all times of the day and night.

What happens at the end of the trial?

The project is expected to run for 12 to 18 months and will include ongoing monitoring of the use of chargers and the customer experience. We may adjust the demand management system over this time. 
The results of the trial will inform decisions on how we will deliver Electric Vehicle charging to our customers in the future. We will contact you prior to the trial ending and provide at least a month's notice of any changes to your EV charging experience.
