Parking during the Market Square and Central Market Expansion project
UPark Central Market is undergoing a car park modification to facilitate the Market Square and Central Market Expansion.
Changes to UPark Central Market to accommodate the development commenced Monday 22 May 2023.
UPark Central Market and Adelaide Central Market will remain open during all stages of construction. There will be as usual trading at Adelaide Central Market from Tuesday to Saturday.
What does this mean for me?
- As of Thursday 18 May, Early Bird pricing will be unavailable from Tuesdays to Thursdays. A Monday Early Bird will continue to be available.
- There will be changes to traffic flow within the car park during the construction period. Please take note of signage and drive with caution.
- There will be a reduction in car park spaces during construction which will be reinstated upon project completion.
- UPark Plus Customers will continue to receive access to daily capped rate pricing.
- UPark Plus Customers will continue to receive one-hour free parking at UPark Central Market and UPark Andrew.
Changes in the car park
Level 1 car parking above the Central Market Arcade will be vacated for the redevelopment and returned upon completion.
- Change in direction of the car park ramps between levels 1 and 2.
- Internal circulation of the car park to support vehicle movements and exit through to Gouger Street.
- Installation of fencing for the upcoming demolition.
Where can I park if visiting the Central Market?
UPark Central Market will remain open during the construction, to avoid disruption we recommend parking at UPark Andrew and UPark Grote, which are located within walking distance.
Saturday Parking Special at UPark Andrew and UPark Grote
Headed to the Central Market on a Saturday? Park at UPark Andrew and UPark Grote and enjoy free parking for 3 hours from 27 May 2023.
For drive-up Customers:
- Park at UPark Andrew or UPark Grote Saturdays between 7am and 3pm.
- Take a ticket on entry.
- Validate your ticket at the Market Stall in the Central Market before 3pm.
- Receive 3 hours free.
- If you stay over 3 hours, simply pay the flat fee of $8 at UPark Andrew and $10 at UPark Grote and stay as long as you want.
For UPark Plus Customers:
- Park at UPark Andrew or UPark Grote Saturdays between 7am and 3pm. Exit the car park by 3.30pm.
- Validate your UPark Plus card or registered License Plate at the Market Stall in the Central Market before 3pm.
- Receive 3 hours free.
